Histoy of Spartan Television Spartan Television (STV) is the student run television station whose programming is currently available in the closed circuit network of campus dormitories. STV was founded in 2000 in cooperation with Housing and resident Life. Supervised by teaching assistants since its inception, STV has been used as an outlet for BCN students wishing to further their production and broadcasting skills. In the Fall of 07, under new student leadership, STV became an official UNCG affiliated club for the first time and since then interest has flourished as the organization has attempted to broaden its relationship with the university. Currently, student produced programming, training, and governing principles are being developed and applied as the new face of STV takes shape. This semester is being used to train and recruit more underclassmen in order to increase levels of skill set sustainability. Recruitment Day 07 resulted in a three-fold increase of student participation over the previous semester. A new logo has been designed, a website has been built, and new shows are being developed. We also recently have been given access to the Athletics Department to air Spartan sporting events.
